Design unveiled for new Macquarie Park Ambulance Station
Communities in Sydney’s growing northwest are being given their first look at the design for the new Macquarie Park Ambulance Station, which will strengthen emergency and mobile medical care across the area.
Macquarie Park is part of the NSW Government’s $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program, which will deliver 30 new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure over the coming years.
The modern, purpose-built station will include:
- Internal parking for up to 12 emergency vehicles
- On-site vehicle wash facilities
- Administration and logistic areas
- Multipurpose spaces
- Staff amenities including a gym
- On-site parking.
With thousands of families expected to move into the area in the coming years, Macquarie Park was identified by NSW Ambulance as a high priority location for a new station. This follows a comprehensive service planning process using best practice modelling software to map Triple Zero (000) calls.
Located on the corner of Khartoum Road and Tasman Place, Macquarie Park, the new station will optimise response times and better support the delivery of emergency and mobile medical care for the local community.
Planning and design for Macquarie Park ambulance station is almost complete, with construction expected to begin this year, following planning approval and the appointment of a builder.
Over the coming years, the NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program will deliver 30 new ambulance stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, Hunter and Illawarra regions.
