First look at designs for Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment
The community is being invited to have its say on the proposed design for the $630 million Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment, which will deliver modern and integrated health care services for the Fairfield community.
A new artist’s impression and floor plans have been released showing the planned locations of departments which will be located within a new multi-storey clinical services building.
This will include:
- An expanded Emergency Department
- Intensive Care Unit
- Medical Imaging
- Operating theatres
- Inpatient wards.
Some existing departments will also be relocated or refurbished as part of the project.
The plans include a new hospital main entry, improved drop-off areas, and a multi-storey car park with expanded ground-level parking zones — all designed to boost capacity and improve access for patients, visitors, and staff across the campus.
The community is being invited to learn more and have their say on the project by attending one of the following drop-in information sessions to meet the project team:
- Fairfield Hospital main foyer, Thursday 27 November, 10am to 12pm
- Fairfield Markets – Fairfield Showground, Saturday 29 November, 10am to 2pm
- Fairfield Hospital main foyer, Wednesday 10 December, 5.00pm to 7.00pm
The designs have been unveiled alongside the project’s first Review of Environmental Factors (REF) planning application being placed on public exhibition – an important milestone for the Fairfield community to help shape planning for the redevelopment.
The REF planning application is on exhibition until 11.59pm, Friday 19 December. Feedback on the proposed hospital designs and early works can be provided online.
The existing Fairfield Hospital has been serving the community since 1988, and this redevelopment will deliver the biggest upgrade in almost 40 years, supporting growing communities in south western Sydney.
The Fairfield Hospital Redevelopment is a partnership between the NSW and Commonwealth Governments and is being delivered by Health Infrastructure, in partnership with the South Western Sydney Local Health District.
