Future of healthcare at $250 million Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment
New fly-through animation showcases new state-of-the art three-storey Clinical Services Building, as part of the Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment.
For the first time all major health services will be under one roof and has been designed to improve the experience for Griffith and surrounding communities. The new purpose-built health facility is the largest health infrastructure project investment currently taking place in the Murrumbidgee Local Health District.
The Clinical Services Building features:
- improved emergency department
- significant increase in aged care and rehabilitation beds
- new operating theatres surgical and medical inpatient units
- four beds to support patients aged 16 years and over requiring short term care for their mental health wellbeing
- maternity, medical imaging and paediatrics
- expanded outpatient services with more specialist clinics
- renal and oncology services
- a new car park.
Health Infrastructure and the Murrumbidgee Local Health District are working closely with contractor, ADCO Constructions, with construction already underway.
Health services will continue without interruption during construction of the new Clinical Services Building. Construction of the new hospital is set to be completed in 2025 before the services are transferred over from the current hospital and the new facility is operational.
