Two tower cranes have arrived at Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct to support construction of the new Integrated Services Building, part of the $930 million redevelopment of Liverpool Hospital.
Calling creative kids aged 5 - 12!
The Liverpool Hospital Redevelopment's 'Name the Crane' competition is officially open and we are inviting local children to put their creativity to the test and help us choose the perfect names for these mighty machines.
Prizes
- Two winners will each receive a $250 voucher kindly donated by the main works contractor, Lendlease.
- The winning names will be proudly displayed on the cranes, and winners and runners up will be invited to join the project team for an onsite naming event.

Who can enter?
Children aged 5 to 12 who:
- Live locally
- Attend a local school or daycare
- Connected to Liverpool Hospital Staff.
How to enter
- Submit one name for a tower crane
- Explain why you chose the name (25 words or less)
- Provide entrant's name, age, suburb, school/daycare/staff name, and contact details
- Have the entry form signed by a parent or guardian.
Submit your entry by emailing the completed entry form to SWSLHD-LHAP@health.nsw.gov.au.
The winning names will be proudly displayed on the cranes, and winners will be invited to join the project team for an onsite naming event.

- Entries open Monday 10 August 2026 and close 5pm, Friday 25 September 2026
- Submissions received after 25 September 2026 will not be accepted
- Eligibility: Local children aged 5 - 12 only (please refer to terms and conditions (PDF 102.26KB) for details).
Judging details and key dates
A special panel of judges will carefully review all the entries. This panel includes representatives from:
- South Western Sydney Local Health District
- Health Infrastructure
- LendLease
- A valued member from the Consumer Reference Group
The panel will be looking for the most creative and thoughtful names, and will also take into account the age of each entrant to ensure fairness.
