Important milestone for $250 million Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment
Health Infrastructure has lodged the State Significant Development (SSD) application for the $250 million Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment.
This milestone marks more than two years of detailed planning and extensive consultation with clinicians, operational staff, community members and local and state government agencies.
The new Griffith Base Hospital will provide the Griffith region with capacity for:
- an expanded Emergency Department
- significant increase in aged care and rehabilitation beds
- operating theatres
- surgical and medical inpatient units
- maternity services
- medical imaging
- paediatric services
- expanded outpatient services with more specialist clinics
- renal and oncology services.
The Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment is moving forward this year with the continuation of early and enabling works. These works are forecast for completion in early 2022 ahead of the start of main works. Visit the NSW Planning Portal to view the redevelopment's SSD documentation.
During the 28-day public exhibition period the community is encouraged to review the design and make submissions. Learn more about the Griffith Base Hospital Redevelopment.
