Liverpool Hospital set to be transformed after a new $740 million injection
Liverpool Hospital is set to become a world-class facility thanks to the newly announced $740m Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct.
The community today got its first glimpse at how the transformation of the health facility will look. Due for completion by 2026, the redevelopment will include a new comprehensive and integrated cancer centre, an expanded emergency department, and enhanced neonatal intensive care, maternity and critical care.
This investment paves the way for the development of a health, education and research precinct that will enhance Liverpool Hospital's credentials as a hub for new and innovative technologies and health services.
By 2021 south western Sydney's population will have exceeded more than 1 million people, up from 966,450 today. Work is already underway on the $632 million redevelopment of Campbelltown Hospital, a $50 million upgrade to Bowral District Hospital and a $7 million upgrade to Fairfield Hospital's emergency department.
