Liverpool Hospital's parent room provides comfort and convenience
Liverpool Hospital’s third Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) parent room is providing additional support for parents of premature or sick babies.
The rooms allow parents of babies in the NICU to receive accommodation during a difficult and stressful period in their lives free of charge.
Nurse Manager NICU Kirsty Minter said the new room was a wonderful addition to the unit.
“We are looking forward to being able to have parents nearby so they can be more involved in their baby’s care, and allow breastfeeding to be established,’’ Kirsty said.
“We are also looking forward to being able to offer our rural and remote families a place to stay temporarily while they coordinate long-term accommodation if needed.’’
