A new ambulance for Macquarie Park
The site for the new Macquarie Park Ambulance Station has been announced, marking a key step in strengthening frontline emergency care for communities in Sydney’s north west.
The Premier visited the site today and was joined by Health Infrastructure staff and NSW Ambulance paramedics for the announcement.
The new Macquarie Park Ambulance Station is being delivered as part of the NSW Government’s $615.5 million NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program.
The new purpose-built ambulance station will service Macquarie Park and surrounding suburbs, and support local paramedics to provide the best emergency and mobile health care now and into the future.
Health Infrastructure and NSW Ambulance thoroughly evaluated the Macquarie Park site of the new ambulance station to ensure that it meets the needs of NSW Ambulance staff.
The NSW Ambulance Infrastructure Program will deliver 30 additional stations and supporting infrastructure across Sydney, the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Hunter and Wollongong.
New ambulance stations are being built in locations which optimise ambulance response performance, and which meets the needs of the local community.
Health Infrastructure is working alongside NSW Ambulance and other Government stakeholders to identify additional sites for new stations. Sites are now confirmed for North Sydney, South Windsor, Oran Park, Berowra, Prestons, Moss Vale, Bargo, Lisarow, Glendenning, Caves Beach, Carlingford and Macquarie Park.
An additional 2,500 NSW Ambulance staff including 500 paramedics are being recruited to rural and regional areas. This will boost emergency and mobile healthcare for our metropolitan and regional communities.
