Hi there. Have you been wondering what’s been behind the hoarding?
Me too!
Guess what, the hoarding’s finally come down.
Come with me and see the entry to our new building. It’s absolutely beautiful. You’re in for a surprise!
The great news now is, finally, the H Block lifts are open.
Both lifts are fully functional. No more doing a big walkaround to get to Level 3, H3, or H1.
They’re here, framed in this really beautiful finish that’s a real feature of our new building.
It looks fantastic, so clean and so shiny. Come and see it!
We’re now halfway down the main entry floor, and one of the things that will absolutely excite you when you see it is the cut-out spaces like this.
They’re here for our patients, staff, and visitors to have a spot to sit and rest.
I was really excited this morning to see some JMOs sitting here and having their coffee break.
It’s a great spot, nice and quiet, and an opportunity where you can chat too.
Look how friendly it is. It’s a nice, open area.
Lovely greenery to see, and it just breaks up the space beautifully.
Another feature of the new build is its absolutely enticing nature inside.
You get to see the natural light coming in, and I love that you also get to see the greenery and the outside world.
It’s that part of the hospital that’s often forgotten.
Okay, now we’re at what I think is the heart of the area.
This will eventually be the reception area, the main entry foyer, and the place where you enter.
It’s a really nice environment. You can see it’s quite enticing.
At the moment, it’s our temporary executive suite, the home of where Katie and I hang out, along with many of my colleagues.
If there’s something you need, please come down and see us.
It’s a really great area, open and friendly.
This is the other space, the cashier space.
I don’t know if you remember the last cashier space we had, it was a bit of a hole in the wall!
This is a really beautiful open space with a nice feel.
It’s super friendly. There’s also some seating, in case people want to rest while waiting for the cashier.
It’s a big improvement on where we were before.
Okay, so at the end of the corridor, we’ve got the hoarding with doors.
Everyone’s been wondering what’s behind those doors.
I’ve been saying to my colleagues, this has been an entrée to our future.
Next door is the main course, moving into the real big building, the new Kids Service building.
Not too far in the future, we’ll start seeing that access open up.
Please, really do come down and see the executive suite.
This is a really important time in John Hunter’s history as we welcome in the future.
We can’t wait to care for our patients and staff here.
