Nepean Redevelopment Construction Update February 2026
Summary of the latest Nepean Hospital Redevelopment construction activities this month.
Nepean Redevelopment is entering its final year of construction in 2026.
The three-storey atrium is coming to life with glass panels and terrazzo flooring installed, the new reception area shaping up, and the addition of handrails at the main entry staircase.
The next construction milestone will be the removal of scaffolding to reveal the new building's facade featuring terracotta and white panels, which were inspired by escarpments in the Blue Mountains.

Internally, there has been major progress across all levels with doors and carpet installed.
Large windows are a key feature of the patient bedrooms in the new palliative care unit on level seven, giving patients uninterrupted views of the local landscape.
Road works are continuing on Barber Ave, which will lead vehicles and pedestrians to the hospital’s main entry. Over the coming months, there will be partial road closures in different sections to upgrade the road and roadside parking.
Please play close attention to traffic signs and drive carefully while construction continues along Barber Avenue. Thank you for your patience while we progress these important works.
Across campus, construction is now complete on the new Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit (CAMHS). When it opens, the new service will be known as the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit.
The community is invited to tour the new facility before it opens at the Public Open Day on Saturday 14 March 2026 9:30am - 1:30pm. Book a tour here.
Final touches are underway and the service is entering a comprehensive operational commissioning process to ensure it’s ready to support patients in the coming months.
Thank you for your support and patience as we progress Stage 2 of the Nepean Redevelopment.
