Nepean Redevelopment Construction Update September 2025
Summary of the latest Nepean Hospital Redevelopment construction activities in September 2025.
Exciting progress continues on Stage 2 of the Nepean Redevelopment with construction of the new 7-storey Stage 2 building reaching its highest point. It was celebrated by a traditional topping out ceremony that involves placing a tree on the highest point of construction.
Inside the building, the grand staircase at the new main entry is taking shape with concrete being poured in coming days. Walls are going up across Levels 0 to 6 which includes Molecular Imaging and Medical Imaging, Renal Dialysis unit as well as the new ICU department.
Work has also commenced on the building’s exterior façade, including the triple-height glass main entry, bringing the vision of a modern, patient-centred hospital one step closer to reality.
Level 1 has undergone significant process over the past month especially the new Education and Training Centre with more than 80 per cent of wall sheeting complete. This transforms the space from a construction zone with exposed services to a near finished product for the end users.
Meanwhile, the new hospital loading dock is one step closer to completion with the installation of the roof now complete.

Inside the loading dock, the builders have painted the walls and started flooring. Once completed, the loading dock will have increased space and capacity to support the hospital’s major expansion.
Across the campus, construction is progressing well on the new purpose-built Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Unit.
The external brickwork and façade works are almost finished, with scaffolding coming down over coming weeks.
Inside, the unit is coming to life — flooring in the ensuites and bedrooms are finished and continuing in the common areas, and equipment is being installed in the kitchen.
The corridor that connects the Triage and Assessment Centre with the new unit is also complete and the fit-out and landscaping of the external courtyard has begun.
Next to the CAMHS building, the new Total Asset Management (TAM) building is making good progress.
The framing and walls are all completed, external cladding is underway and internal services are progressing well. The TAM building will house hospital maintenance staff and their equipment.
