Nepean Redevelopment Construction Zone update December 2025
Summary of the latest Nepean Hospital Redevelopment construction activities in December 2025.
After nine years of planning, design and construction, Nepean Hospital's more than $1 billion transformation is entering its final year in 2026.
For the last two years, the builders have been working within an enclosed construction zone. Recently, we’ve had to breach this zone in order to connect Stage 2 to the rest of the hospital.
This includes the recent closure of the temporary link-bridge to Building A to progress construction of the new hospital building. See the access changes here.

When complete, Stage 2 will deliver improved campus access with upgraded pathways, better connections to hospital services, clear wayfinding and easy access to parking.
Inside the new Stage 2 building, the installation of joinery, ceiling panels, staff stations and medical service panels is progressing nicely on the lower levels.
The builders have also made good progress to the new Palliative Care Unit on Level 7 with internal walls for inpatient rooms, communal spaces and staff areas starting to take shape.
The new hospital loading dock is now complete and was opened at a special ribbon cutting ceremony with loading dock staff and hospital executives last week.

Across the campus, the final stages of construction on the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services Unit are underway.
Recent progress includes landscaping works, and joinery for the bedrooms and common area, and the installation of ground surfaces in the outdoor courtyard.
Once these works are competed, the next phase will be focused on furnishings and artwork, as well as the commissioning of services.
Thank you for your support and patience as we progress Stage 2 of the Nepean Redevelopment.
