New acute services building at Gunnedah Hospital opens
We're happy to share that the new acute services building at Gunnedah Hospital has opened to the public.
Following construction completion in late 2025, and a successful operational commissioning program, the new acute services building at Gunnedah Hospital has opened and is receiving patients.
Public access to the hospital remains the same:
- Marquis Street for the hospital main entry, Inpatient Unit, Maternity (during business hours),
Day Surgery, Physiotherapy, Dental, and Pathology. - Anzac Parade for the Emergency Department, Maternity (after-hours) and Medical Imaging.
For the emergency department car park off Anzac Parade there will be a new drop-off/pick-up zone and accessible parking options.
In addition to the Marquis Street and Anzac Parade carparks, there is off-street parking on Reservoir Street and Anzac Parade.
Ambulances will access the new hospital building from Reservoir Street.
Thank you for your support and patience while the final works and the operational commissioning activities were completed.
Also thank you to the community members (around 200 of you) who took the opportunity to take a tour of the new acute services building during late November. The project team also had the honour of taking members from PRAMS, Local Health Committee, and the Auxiliary, as well as the artists, and working groups members through for tours.
To assist with wayfinding a video has been prepared showing the access points.
