About the works

The NSW and Commonwealth governments have committed over $828 million to develop the New Shellharbour Hospital and Integrated Services project.

Health Infrastructure has engaged BESIX Watpac to deliver the work.

Our approved working hours are Monday to Friday, 7 am to 6 pm. We will notify you in advance of any changes.

Construction of the new hospital started in 2024 and is expected to finish in 2027.

How the work will affect you

We understand that building new infrastructure can be disruptive for residents, businesses, and road users. Our top priority is ensuring the health and safety of the local community during construction.

We work to minimise noise, dust, and vibration by:

• monitoring noise, dust, and vibration levels
• providing appropriate breaks from noisy activities
• limiting noisy work to standard construction hours
• reducing the use of multiple machines in the same area at the same time
• using non-tonal reversing beepers on machinery and heavy vehicles
• switching off equipment when not in use
• notifying the community in advance about noisy activities
• using water trucks to manage dust.
• Sprinklers to manage dust.

We will monitor and manage access points throughout construction. At times, we may introduce short-term traffic control or reduce speed limits. For your safety, please follow the directions of traffic controllers at all times.
