Partnerships driving progress on the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment
The NSW Government has committed $940 million to the redevelopment of the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital to deliver a new hospital building and refurbishment of existing spaces.
Following significant construction progress in 2025, momentum has continued into 2026 on the Royal Prince Alfred (RPA) Hospital Redevelopment, including the latest achievement marked by the pouring of the new Level 05 slab for the main structure of the East Tower.
The integrated team gathered recently to mark this progress, which is a testament to the strength of the partnerships between Health Infrastructure, Sydney Local Health District, CPB Contractors, and TSA Riley.
Together, these organisations are delivering the $940 million redevelopment, working hand-in-hand to plan, coordinate, and execute each stage with care and precision. Collaboration on the forward plan has been key to ensuring the project advances while minimising disruption to hospital operations.
Redeveloping a live hospital is very challenging and requires an enormous amount of stakeholder communications, briefing advice and patience. Works are carefully planned in advance and communicated to LHD staff, with construction methodologies reviewed to reduce impacts wherever possible.
The RPA Redevelopment team continues to work closely with RPA Hospital to manage and mitigate noise, scheduling works at appropriate times and incorporating breaks to provide respite where needed.
The safety and wellbeing of NSW Health staff, patients, workers, and our community remain the highest priority.
This milestone not only reflects the physical progress on site but also the commitment of all partners to deliver a world-class healthcare facility for the future.
As we look ahead to an exciting year of progress, the team will remain focused on achieving further milestones that will bring this project closer to completion.
