Port Macquarie Base Hospital Mechanical and Clinical Infrastructure Upgrade works notice: 2- 13 February 2026
Internal building surveying and drone surveys will be undertaken at Port Macquarie Base Hospital to produce a detailed survey of the site as part of hospital upgrade planning works.
Health Infrastructure is in the planning phase for upgrades to the existing Port Macquarie Base Hospital (PMBH).
The project will include essential upgrades to the mechanical systems installed in the original 1994 building, refurbishment and expansion of the Emergency Department (ED) to meet future demand, and upgrades to the Maternity Service and Neonatal Care Unit.
There will be no impact to hospital operations, or to staff, patient or visitor access to hospital spaces and clinical services. No noise, vibration or dust impacts are expected.
Work will occur between 7.00am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday for the duration of these activities.

How will this work affect you?
- Surveyors will use body-worn laser scanner equipment inside the hospital.
- Surveyors will move throughout the building with a wearable 3D laser scanner.
- This technology measures spaces in seconds, minimising disruptions to patients, visitors and staff.
- The technology does not capture images of people.
Drone surveying
Scheduled on the external hospital grounds from Tuesday 3 February to Thursday 5 February 2026.
How will this work affect you?
- A drone will fly approximately 50 metres above ground-level to capture roof information.
- Helicopter movements will be monitored to ensure the drone is not in use at those times.
