Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment Construction Activities - Level 3, main clinical services building, Delivery Unit
As part of ongoing refurbishment works within RPA Hospital, the builder on the redevelopment will take possession of Delivery Room 3 to complete refurbishment works within the Delivery Unit.
What’s happening?
From Monday 9 March 2026 to early July 2026, there will be no staff access to Delivery Room 3 which will be decanted.
Work will take place between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday. This work will include:
- Establishment of the work zone, including infection control measures, hoardings and protective barriers
- Isolation and making safe of any services
- Demolition of walls, ceiling and flooring where applicable
- Creation of a new window opening; construction of walls and ceiling; and completion of finishes.
To minimise disruption, where required:
- Impacted staff will continue to be informed prior to any noisy work
- Work will be scheduled in consultation with impacted teams
- Respite periods will be scheduled during noisy work
- Dust suppression and extraction will be implemented
- Where possible, we will use equipment to reduce noise and vibration.
What to expect:
- Hospital staff will share corridor access with construction staff
- The work area will be fully sealed for infection control
- No staff access to Delivery Room 3.
