Notification of night works – East Extension steel installation and concrete slab, April – July 2026
To support the RPA Hospital Redevelopment, night works will along Gloucester House Drive and Lambie Dew Drive (south) for the installation of structural steel and perimeter scaffolding for the new East Extension Building. This will be followed by concrete slab construction and services installation.
Works are scheduled weeknights between 9pm and 5am and will continue until July 2026. Night works have been scheduled to minimise disruption to the hospital loading docks.
Works will involve a mobile crane, forklifts, scissor lifts, and impact tools for the fastening of structural steel bolts, along with associated task lighting to illuminate the work zone safely.
Anticipated impacts and changes
- Noise is expected to occur in short, intermittent bursts.
- Construction vehicles will enter via Gloucester House Drive and park along Lambie Dew Drive for unloading.
- Traffic controllers will be on site to manage construction traffic and maintain safe access for all road users. No access changes are anticipated for staff or the public using Gloucester House Drive.
- Patient transport access, and access to the RPA Women & Babies entrance (including urgent maternity), will be maintained at all times.
- Loading dock access via Gloucester House Drive and Lambie Dew Drive (south) will not be available during night works.
- The nightworks construction zone will be cleared by 5am each morning, ensuring normal hospital operations can resume at the start of each day.
