Construction for the Western Medical Gas Compound will start in the last week of February 2026.
The NSW Government is investing $940 million in the RPA Hospital Redevelopment to deliver an enhanced and expanded emergency department and Intensive Care Unit, as well as medical imaging suites, operating theatres, increased interventional and imaging services, expanded neonatology services, additional inpatient beds, and improved public domain and services including roads, wayfinding, landscaping and information and communications technology infrastructure.
Health Infrastructure has engaged CPB Contractors to carry out elements of the Early and Main Works, including construction of the Western Medical Gas Compound.
Construction for the Medical Gas Compound will start in the last week of February 2026. We expect construction totake approximately 20 weeks to complete. The location is shown in the diagram below.

General construction working hours are 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday, and 8am to 1pm on Saturday. No work will take place outside of these hours, on a Sunday or public holidays without prior notice.
Like any construction site, there will be some noise and other impacts, however we will make every effort to keep these to a minimum and will try to finish the work as quickly as possible.
When required, traffic control staff will be onsite to direct traffic.
We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.
