Royal Prince Alfred Hospital Redevelopment works notice - Temporary footpath closure Missenden Road - commencing Friday 4 September 2026

Scope of works

Works and power supply overview is carried out under an Ausgrid Authority approval.

Intermittent works will include excavation to the cable joint location, high voltage cabling, backfilling and temporary footpath restoration. Exclusion zones and traffic and pedestrian controls will be established prior to each shift and removed afterwards to assist safe access for all road users.

To support this work, sections of the Missenden Road footpath adjacent to the hospital, at the corner of Johns Hopkins Drive, will be intermittently closed, with pedestrian diversions in place during typical construction hours.

Outside normal construction hours, pedestrian covers and non-slip road plates will be used to reopen access with all covers and barriers secured at the end of each shift.

Note: There are no planned power outages to surrounding residents or the hospital as part of these works. If you experience any power interruptions during construction hours, please contact the project team or your line manager.

Dates and timings

Works are planned to take place over approximately three weeks, from Friday 4 September to Monday 28 September 2026, weather permitting, between 6.30am and 4pm.

What you may notice

During these works, you may notice:

• Limited access to sections of the Missenden Road footpath between the RPA Hospital Main Entrance and Johns Hopkins Drive
• Local noise impacts from equipment and machinery may be experienced.
• Traffic control personnel managing vehicle and pedestrian movements in the area.
