Construction update at Ryde Hospital Redevelopment
As the site is prepared for the construction of the new Acute Services Building (ASB), the project team remains committed to minimising disruption through comprehensive measures to manage noise, dust, vibration, and the safe removal of any hazardous materials.

Preparing the site for new Acute Services Building
AW Edwards, the project’s lead contractor, is currently removing the recently decommissioned and vacated buildings prior to commencing foundation works.
Management of construction impacts
The redevelopment team is committed to minimising noise and vibration throughout construction where possible, and have a number of mitigation measures in place, including;
- real-time monitoring of noise and vibration levels
- providing dedicated respite periods
- use of temporary noise mounds, barriers and enclosures
- providing advance notification of noisy activities.
A range of dust mitigation measures are also implemented on site, including:
- compacting and sealing of the site to prevent dust particles becoming airborne
- covering truck loads and stockpiles
- using road sweepers to collect dust and dirt.
