Ryde Hospital to benefit from first MRI service
Patients at Ryde Hospital will soon have access to MRI services on the hospital campus for the first time, with a new MRI to be delivered as part of the $526.8 million Ryde Hospital Redevelopment.
The MRI will be located in the hospital’s new seven-storey Acute Services Building, currently under construction, and will support a range of diagnostic services across emergency, neurology, orthopaedics, oncology and general medicine.
Once complete, the Acute Services Building will provide a modern, purpose-built health facility to support the long-term needs of the growing Ryde community.
The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will deliver:
- a new and expanded Emergency Department, medical imaging department, Intensive Care Unit, operating theatres and procedure rooms, and day-only surgical/endoscopy spaces
- a new purpose-built ambulatory care centre and paediatric short stay unit
- additional adult overnight inpatient beds
- pharmacy, pathology, food, environmental, linen and supply services
- education, training and research spaces to strengthen tertiary partnerships
- improved campus access, landscaping, wayfinding and supporting infrastructure.
The Acute Services Building is expected to be completed in late 2027, with the hospital’s main entrance and landscaping works to follow in 2028
