Hi everyone, I’m Michael Pascoe, part of the Structure Team here at Multiplex on the John Hunter project.
These jump form systems will allow the northern cores to progress independently of the concrete suspended slabs that make up each floor.
The jump forms on the four northern stair cores will progressively climb to the top of the building, with each jump reaching up to 4 metres.
Thanks.
Hi everyone, my name is Ethan and I’m a Graduate here on the John Hunter project.
I’m currently standing on Level 00, where we’re making exciting progress on the southern side of the new Acute Services Building.
Trades are now installing the final sequence of formwork needed to complete Level 00 of the Southern Concourse.
Once the formwork is complete and steel reinforcement is placed, concrete will be poured into these formed areas. This will help create the connection between the Acute Services Building and the existing road along Kookaburra Circuit.
The construction of these formwork systems brings us closer to completing the structure of the new Concourse levels, which will house the new ambulance bays and emergency department drop-off on Level 0, an elevated garden space on Level 1, and link bridges on Levels 2 and 3.
Hi, my name is Gregor Akin and I’m a Graduate here at the John Hunter Hospital.
Today, I’m providing a quick update on the new southern entry lift we’re constructing as part of Stage One of the John Hunter refurbishment works.
So far, we’ve completed relocating the existing bracing to its new location. The reason for this move is to create a clear opening from the new lift to the existing car park.
The next stage, currently underway, is excavating the new pit base. This pit will allow the lift to sit below the surface of the car park, enabling a smooth transition for pedestrians moving in and out of the new lift.
That’s the progress so far on the new southern entry lift — we’ll keep you updated as works progress.
Hi everyone, my name is PMC and I’m a Graduate here with the Services Team.
Behind me is our first Jump Start Trade Workshop for 2024 — the first of six trade workshops planned for this year.
Today’s session is an introduction to the built environment and an overview of our site, with Site Manager Brett McF guiding trades through Level 00 and the work underway on the project.
Building on last year’s successful Jump Start program, Jump Start Trade represents an exciting new extension for the Hunter.
In addition to Jump Start and Tertiary programs starting in early May, Jump Start Trade aims to encourage young women in Years 10 to 12 to explore trade-based career pathways within the built environment.
Through interactive, hands-on workshops led by our subcontractors, students get a valuable introduction to the wide range of opportunities available in this field.
