Hi everyone, I’m Blake, Cadet on the John Hunter site team.
With civil works nearing completion around the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct, there has been a great deal of activity across the site.
Behind me, the annulus for the northern roundabout has been poured, and the surrounding kerbs are complete.
Works on the bus bay are also progressing well, with the pavement, footpath and kerbs now in place. Landscaping in this area will start in the coming weeks.
That’s all for this civil update — thanks!
Hi everyone, I’m Jack, a Cadet on the structure team.
Today I’m excited to stand before you at Stair 3, the highest point on the John Hunter campus. Stair 3 now proudly holds the title of tallest element on campus, surpassing the HMRI building.
Stair 2, positioned to the southwest, is in close pursuit of Stair 3, aiming to claim its place at the top.
This friendly competition highlights the rapid progress we’re making as a team on the project.
As part of the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project, we’ve also achieved a significant milestone — all six jump forms are now installed across the site.
Hi, my name is Sam. Today I’ll be talking about the installation of our main switchboards on Level B4.
Before the switchboards arrive onsite, Multiplex attends a factory acceptance test in Sydney with the board’s manufacturer. Our electrical subcontractor, Star Group, our electrical consultant, Sensor, and our commissioning agent, CSI, also take part.
Witness testing is conducted to ensure everything is running perfectly, with no defects.
Once the high-voltage switchboard, transformers, and low-voltage switchboards are installed, Star can connect them to provide permanent power to the site.
We currently have three of the main switchboards onsite — stay tuned as we progress towards having all four installed.
Hi everyone, I’m Patrick, a Cadet here at Multiplex.
Throughout the project lifecycle, Multiplex hosts various charity events to give back to the local community.
This year, we held our Colm Cup golf day in support of Jenny’s Place.
Established in 1977, Jenny’s Place is a not-for-profit, community-based service that provides direct support to women and children experiencing domestic violence or homelessness in the Newcastle area.
We welcomed golfers from Health Infrastructure, AP, Multiplex, and many subcontractors from the John Hunter project.
There was a great turnout, with lots of participation in games, raffles and auctions to raise funds for this vital service.
Hi everyone, I’m Sally.
This month, for Jump Start Trades, we held a plumbing workshop, featuring guest speaker Axis.
Axis shared insights on their scope of works on the Acute Services Building, along with valuable information about career pathways for plumbing apprentices.
