Patrick:
Hi everyone, my name is Patrick Stubbs and I'm a Cadet here at Multiplex, currently on the structure team.
We're all ramped up as we've just finished the first ramp that connects our new Acute Services Building with Kookaburra Circuit.
Behind me, you can see that the ramp connects the first basement level to the underside of the concourse. This ramp was built to provide access to the generator room beneath Kookaburra Circuit.
This generator room holds a backup generator for the existing John Hunter Hospital.
Thank you.
Sam:
Hi everyone, my name is Sam and I'm a Graduate on the refurb team at our John Hunter project.
We've commenced the first stage of our refurbishment works, taking possession of rooms within the G and H wards of the existing hospital.
These rooms will be demolished to create the tie-in points for our FM and clinical link bridges, which will join the existing John Hunter building to the new Acute Services Building.
So far, we've worked with the LHD to decant these rooms, complete service isolations, undertake demolition works and carry out associated structural remediation.
Isabelle:
Hi everyone, my name is Isabelle and I'm part of the design team here at Multiplex.
I'm currently standing on our lowest basement level — Basement 4 — which will be one of our future car parks.
Here, we have commenced our masonry blockwork walls. We’re using a mix of block types, including core-filled blocks — which are filled with concrete, hollow, and impact-rated.
Along with completing the blockwork walls, the services fit-out has also begun in this area. This means our service trades have started installing cable trays, pipes, and mechanical services into the walls and rooms.
We're excited to have commenced this stage, working brick by brick to build our new Acute Services Building.
Thank you.
Sam:
Hi everyone, I'm Sam. Behind me, we are hosting our third Integrated Golden Hard Hat Award celebration.
This is a great opportunity for our wider team to come together, strengthen our connections, and build relationships.
We gather to celebrate an award that recognises someone who has demonstrated commitment and dedication to the integrated team approach in delivering the John Hunter Health and Innovation Precinct project.
Today’s recipient was Kurt Boy from the AP Group, recognised for his incredible engagement with the team and attention to project details.
Congratulations!
Sally:
Hi everyone, I'm Sally and I'm part of the Civil team.
This month, we celebrated International Women’s Day — a global day of collective activism and celebration for those committed to forging women's equality.
Here on site, we listened to a presentation from Nurel from Health Infrastructure, Daisy from AP Group, Shirley from Hunter New England Health, and Tany from Multiplex.
The theme for this year was Invest in Women, Accelerate Progress.
