Our vision for the Blacktown LGA

The NSW Government is committed to delivering more and better social housing and supporting the NSW economy and jobs through economic stimulus across the state.

There are over 9,000 social housing dwellings in the Blacktown LGA. Homes NSW’s vision for social housing in the Blacktown LGA includes delivering houses to better meet tenants’ needs located near jobs, shops, transport and services.

Around 7,000 of our dwellings are located in 16 estates, with the remaining 2,000 dwellings scattered across the LGA. Dwellings are predominantly in older areas of Blacktown as opposed to newer housing release areas.

Renewal and deconcentration is a long-term objective. Along with renewing under-developed land and increasing the number of properties, Homes NSW will be replacing older stock and strategically selling properties that are not near transport and other amenities or otherwise not well located.
