NSW Social Housing Assistance Data Report

Homes NSW has developed the annual NSW Social Housing Assistance Data Report, to improve the granularity, quality and accessibility of information available for service delivery planning. This report provides an overview of social housing assistance across NSW.

The report is designed to enhance the information available to organisations working in the housing and homelessness sectors, to inform their service planning, help them understand the characteristics of their client cohort, and anticipate future demand for housing assistance. While other reports focus on the head applicant or head tenant, this report also makes other household members visible. Variables are disaggregated for Aboriginal people and households.

The report is accompanied by a separate How to Guide to assist in reading and interpreting the data.

From 2021-2022 to 2023-2024 the data report was a written report and appendix. This written report was not found to change much from year to year, so it is no longer updated, but remains a useful source of historical information about the housing services provided by the NSW government and its partners.
