A locally owned business with global reach
Aldridge Railway Signals is an Indigenous-owned business based in Lidcombe, NSW. It makes railway signals, level crossing systems and trackside equipment for clients across Asia.
The company was founded in 1990 and employs 20 people locally. Aldridge designs, installs, tests and delivers full rail signalling systems. It is known for leading projects in NSW, including the first LED rail signals on Sydney’s City Circle and Smart Signals now used on the Sydney Metro.
Export growth through international connections
With support from Investment NSW, Aldridge has grown its exports into major Asian markets.
We helped Aldridge:
- connect with global companies like Alstom and Hitachi Rail. Alstom operates in Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong, and Hitachi Rail in Malaysia, Thailand and the Philippines
- present its products at key events such as AusRail (Sydney), InnoTrans (Berlin), and Asia Pacific Rail (Malaysia)
- develop strategies to enter and service new markets in Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Japan.
These efforts helped Aldridge secure multimillion-dollar export contracts. As a result, exports now make up over 40% of the company’s revenue.
The company is now exploring new opportunities in Indochina, the Middle East and Europe.
