NSW-made mining technology goes global
Durst Industries, based in Castle Hill, NSW, makes battery chargers, load-testing equipment and other electrical tools for the mining sector.
In 2023, the company aimed to expand internationally by targeting Indonesia – one of Asia’s largest mining markets.
Support through the Going Global Export Program
Durst joined the Going Global Export Program: METS to Indonesia, run by Investment NSW. As part of the program, it:
- exhibited at Mining Indonesia 2023
- took part in the Australia Pavilion, funded by Investment NSW and organised by Austrade
- connected with local businesses under the Team Australia banner.

Results and future export growth
Investment NSW introduced Durst to an Indonesian distributor during the trade show. As a result, the company:
- signed a distributor agreement for the Indonesian market
- exceeded its projected export sales within 12 months
- expects continued growth in annual exports to Indonesia.
This case shows how targeted support can help NSW manufacturers reach new global markets.
