Investing in clean energy for NSW
Octopus Investments Australia (OIA) is a renewable energy investment manager and project developer. Founded in 2018, the company now has a team of more than 55 people across Sydney and Melbourne.
OIA manages over $1 billion in energy assets, including wind, solar and storage projects. Their Darlington Point Solar Farm (333 MW) is one of the largest in Australia, with more than 1 million solar panels.
Support with regulation and expansion
As OIA grows its clean energy portfolio, Investment NSW has supported the company with:
- assistance onshore and offshore
- a whole-of-government approach to help navigate regulatory challenges
- support to guide project development and expansion.
This coordination has helped OIA move forward with major infrastructure investments across NSW.
Supporting NSW’s net zero future
OIA’s projects directly support NSW’s renewable energy goals by:
- increasing the supply of low-emission power
- creating new green jobs
- helping to deliver the state’s net zero emissions targets.
As OIA and similar companies continue to grow, they play an essential role in delivering clean, reliable, and affordable energy for NSW and beyond.
