Beetles with benefits workshop Megalong

Join dung beetle expert Russ Barrow from Ecoinsects for a practical workshop on dung beetles, how they recycle nutrients back into the soil, reduce pests and parasites and improve the water holding capacity of your soil.

Come along to this Greater Sydney Local Land Services event to learn about:

• The many benefits of dung beetles and their life cycles.

• Dung beetle species currently found in Greater Sydney and those with the potential to become established here.

• The impacts of fire, flood and drought have on dung beetles and the livestock preferences of different species.

• How to introduce, establish and monitor dung beetles on your farm.

Additional details:

• Bring any of your dung beetles along for identification!  

• We will be going on a paddock walk (weather permitting). Please wear sturdy shoes, sun protection and weather-appropriate clothes.

• Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Although we will endeavour to do our best, please note that registrations after Saturday 21 March may not be able to have special dietary requirements catered for.
