Overview of this event
Join Hunter Local Land Services and BirdLife Australia’s Kristy Peters for an on-farm workshop on creating and protecting native bird habitats to boost biodiversity and farm resilience!
Event details:
Australian farms provide vital habitat for hundreds of bird species, many of which are now threatened by habitat loss. This session will share practical strategies to create bird-friendly farms that enhance biodiversity and farm resilience.
Learn how birds support pollination, pest control, soil health, and water quality, and discover ways to protect and restore habitats like paddock trees, shrub layers, waterways, and farm dams. We’ll also cover managing threats such as feral predators and chemical use, plus wildlife-friendly fencing and weed control. Leave with actionable steps to make your property a haven for birds!
