Cumnock and district flock ewe field day

The Cumnock flock ewe field day is now in its 4th year and is proud to bring an exciting lineup of local ewe flocks and guest speakers to the 2026 event.

Event details:

This full-day field day and bus tour is designed for sheep producers looking to see best practices on the ground and learn from both industry experts and fellow producers.

Delivered in partnership with Central Tablelands Local Land Services and the Cumnock Show Society, the day provides a unique opportunity to visit 6 - 8 local ewe flocks, inspect animals up close and hear directly from producers about their breeding, management and production systems.

Attendees will also hear from guest speakers covering genomics, data recording, flock performance and animal health, with practical insights you can take home and apply in your own operation.

Agenda:

• 7:00 am - Registration and breakfast

• 7.30 am - Bus departs (visiting 6 flock entrants)

• Morning tea and guest speaker - Henry Hickson, Genomics

• 1:00 pm - Lunch

• Guest speaker - Tim Gole, For Flocks Sake and Gundagai Meats

• 2:00 pm - Bus departs (visiting 5 flock entrants)

• Guest speaker - White Dog Contracting (foot health)

• 6:00 pm - Dinner at Cumnock Showground

Cost:

• $20 per person (covers all meals).

• Proceeds from the event go back into supporting the local Cumnock community,

Additional details:

• Morning tea, lunch, dinner and breakfast are provided,

• The bus will depart Cumnock Showground at 7:30 am sharp,
