Erosion field day - bus tour from Gunning

Join South East Local Land Services for a one-day bus tour as we visit three erosion sites in the Gunning district. At each stop we will examine the causes and solutions for management.

Event details:

South East Local Land Services’ erosion field day brings you specialist expertise for a jam-packed day filled with three field visits to examine real-world examples of the erosion challenges faced by many landholders. The bus tour allows each site visit to be followed by in-depth discussions of some of the causes, considerations and options available to treat erosion at various scales.

Erosion expert Shane Laverty, from the Australian River Restoration Centre, will lead discussions on the causes, considerations and options available to treat erosion at various scales, including:

• soils, catchment size and other factors to consider when assessing erosion

• identification of landscape features and their relationship to erosion

• minor versus major erosion. What you can tackle yourself and when to seek help.

Additional details:

• Please BYO lunch, water bottle and snacks for a picnic in the paddock during the day.

• This field day is being run in conjunction with Gunning District Landcare.
