A series of hands-on workshops to build practical skills in disease identification and control and core farm management, helping landholders strengthen animal health practices.
Event details:
Northern Tablelands Local Land Services is inviting registrations for a new series of Farming fundamentals workshops, covering all aspects of farming management practices.
The first workshop will be held on Thursday, 29 January 2026, focusing on weaner ill-thrift in cattle and feet problems.
Whether you are an experienced farmer or just getting started, these Farming fundamental workshops will provide a practical approach to disease identification and management, including biosecurity.
Topics covered will include:
endemic diseases common to the Northern Tablelands (disease identification, diagnosis, treatment and prevention)
toxicities and residues
nutrition
emergency animal diseases
notifiable diseases
NLIS rules and regulations
biosecurity plans.
Additional details:
Lunch will be provided.
You will be notified when further workshop dates are confirmed.
Workshop 2 will be focused on navigating and using the National Livestock Identification System (NLIS) database.
