Overview of this event
Get your hives buzzing and ready for the season ahead at Hive Thrive – Spring Prep for Bees!
Join us for an informative and practical afternoon with Alex Schellenberg from the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development NSW, who will guide us through essential spring beekeeping tasks to ensure healthy and productive hives. Alex will also cover the important topic of varroa mite inspections and what to look out for as we head into the warmer months.
This hands-on session will include a live hive inspection on the Mudgee Bee Group hives, offering participants a valuable opportunity to see spring prep in action.
Whether you're a seasoned beekeeper or just starting out, you'll walk away with helpful tips and confidence to support your bees this season.
Afternoon tea will be provided – come along, connect with fellow beekeepers, and give your bees the best start to spring!
This event is part of Central Tablelands Biodiversity Month.
