Overview of this event
Learn practical ways to improve wetlands and farm dams through an on-farm field walk showcasing management actions in practice.
Event details:
Following the Wetland and Farm Dams workshop, join us for an on-farm field walk and talk to see practical management in action. This workshop will be co-delivered with expertise from Australian Wetland Consulting. Designed for landholders and farmers, this session focuses on translating knowledge into achievable on-ground outcomes.
Held on a working farm, participants will explore real examples of wetland and dam improvement and discuss practical approaches suited to local conditions.
You will learn about:
Establishing vegetation for shade, filtration and bank stability.
Managing sediment, nutrients and invasive weeds.
Fencing and off-stream watering to manage livestock access.
Enhancing wetlands and dams for biodiversity and farm function.
Why attend:
See proven approaches applied on a working farm.
Gain realistic, achievable management options.
Identify priority improvements for your own property.
This is a hands-on opportunity to build knowledge, share experiences, and strengthen your farm’s water assets.
Additional details:
Morning tea and a light lunch will be provided.
This event includes a walking component across the farm. Please wear sturdy work boots or gum boots, a hat and sun protection, and appropriate clothing, and be prepared for outdoor conditions.
