Hunter River Forum 2026

Join us for the second Hunter River Forum - a full day designed to inspire action and highlight the people, projects and knowledge shaping a more resilient Hunter River catchment.

Event details:

The forum will be professionally facilitated and brings together community members, landholders, stakeholders and experts to explore practical, achievable steps for improving catchment and river health.

Hear from leading expert voices in fluvial geomorphology and river management; Prof. Ian Rutherfurd and Prof. Kirstie Fryirs, alongside on-ground experience from local community groups and proactive landholders.

Local Elders and Traditional Owners will share their Cultural connection to the river and vision for future generations.

Connect with neighbours, professionals, and networks to share insights, channel collective energy and contribute to the ongoing journey of strengthening the Hunter’s rivers and catchments.
