Overview of this event
Curious about the native plants in your paddock? We will show you how to identify species, spot key differences, and understand what they reveal about your land.
Event details:
Join Central West Local Land Services for a morning paddock walk and hands-on plant identification workshop with leading experts Carol and Harry Rose.
This workshop aims to help land managers sharpen their skills to:
Tell the difference between native and introduced grasses and understand the strengths and weaknesses of each.
Identify which plants are useful and why.
Understand what plants tell you about your paddock or landscape. For example, why some plants grow where they do, and what this tells you about soil fertility and other landscape characteristics.
Manage the different plants in your paddock effectively.
Additional details:
BYO chair, hat, water bottle, and appropriate footwear for a walk in the paddock.
Lunch will be provided. Please advise of any dietary requirements or allergens upon checkout.
The workshop will reference the following books, written by the presenters:
If you wish to purchase a copy of either of these books to bring along, please email Victoria Gow at Tocal Bookshop and let her know you are attending an LLS event presented by Harry and Carol Rose so that an 'education' discount may be applied to your order.
