Overview of this event
Spend a hands-on day in the great outdoors and see koala detection dogs from Canines for Wildlife in action as they help uncover signs of koalas during a live survey.
Event details:
Hunter Local Land Services invites you to watch a real survey unfold as the dogs help us detect koala presence in an area that hasn’t been formally surveyed before and discover what clues we find along the way.
Learn about koala ecology, local threats, and the practical steps being taken to protect habitat in your area - plus take home a koala feed tree to help grow future food sources.
Additional details:
Chat with our partners from MidCoast Council, NPWS, Gloucester Environment Group and Landcare to hear about current koala conservation projects in the Gloucester area and how you can get involved.
Lunch and light refreshments provided - please bring a reusable bottle/cup to help keep waste to a minimum.
Contact: Daniel Trudgeon, Senior Land Services Office on 0419 436 185 or via email at: daniel.trudgeon@lls.nsw.gov.au
