Overview of this event
Use local soil moisture and pasture growth data to gauge conditions now and build a clear, practical outlook for pasture growth this coming winter.
Event details:
Join Matt Lieschke, Senior Agricultural Advisor from South East Local Land Services, for a hands‑on workshop exploring how Farm Forecaster soil moisture and pasture growth data can support confident farm management decisions.
Designed for farmers and landholders on the NSW South Coast, this workshop focuses on managing seasonally variable pastures, identifying and filling feed gaps, and making informed supplementary feeding decisions.
You’ll learn how:
the Farm Forecaster probe works
to access local soil moisture and pasture growth data online
to apply this information to real on‑farm decisions.
Followed by a walk 'n' talk hosted by a local farmer giving you the chance to see the probe in place and hear firsthand how they use the data in everyday farm management.
This is a great opportunity to build practical skills in data‑driven decision-making, find out where the nearest Farm Forecaster probe is to your property, and connect with other farmers in your region.
Additional details:
BYO chair, hat, water bottle and appropriate clothing for outdoor activities.
Morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and refreshments will be provided.
This workshop will be held on farm – biosecurity protocols will be communicated prior to the event.
