Pig owners field day

Hunter Local Land Services invites you to discover the essentials of responsible pig ownership, plus enjoy an engaging, hands-on session with a local mobile butcher demonstrating basic butchery techniques and pork cuts.

Our Hunter District Vet Team will also share practical insights on:

• common pig diseases and recommended vaccinations

• why swill feeding is illegal

• exotic and zoonotic diseases

• pig husbandry, nutrition and welfare

• NLIS requirements for pigs and PigPass

• plus information on the new electronic identification requirements for sheep and goats.

Perfect for small landholders, new pig owners, or anyone keen to improve their skills and animal care knowledge.
