Event details:
Join Greater Sydney Local Land Services for a hands-on morning restoring vital creek bank habitat at Mitchell Park in Cattai. This special planting day will focus on improving conditions for the iconic platypus and other native wildlife by strengthening riparian vegetation along Cattai Creek.
What’s happening on the day:
A planting demonstration by a local professional bush regenerator, showcasing best-practice techniques to give native plants the best chance of survival.
A hands-on community planting session focused on creating and enhancing platypus habitat.
Hear from local Platypus expert Dr Michelle Ryan, as well as other local habitat champions.
Learn about the Aboriginal Cultural history of Cattai Creek.
Connect with Hawkesbury Nepean Landcare and learn how to get involved locally.
Lunch and refreshments provided.
Everyone is welcome. Come along, learn practical skills, and be part of a local effort to protect and restore this important ecosystem.
