Overview of this event
Build practical grazing management skills through 8 hands-on, on-farm PROGRAZE® workshops for beef cattle and sheep producers near Holbrook.
Event details:
Holbrook and surrounds - join Murray Local Land Services to get the skills you need to improve the grazing system on your property with practical and hands-on learning delivered on-farm with 8 half-day PROGRAZE® workshops. This workshop is perfect for farmers located in a 1.5 hour radius from Holbrook.
PROGRAZE® is a longstanding, well-regarded course that is designed to assist beef cattle and sheep producers in optimising their grazing management. Each workshop offers hands-on learning and skill development with practical on-farm, in paddock learning.
The course gives producers an understanding of pasture-livestock interaction. This enables producers to make tactical grazing decisions that can manipulate pasture composition, control weeds and meet livestock production targets even in tough times.
Course delivery:
PROGRAZE® is presented via 8 half-day workshops, generally 4 weeks apart on a Tuesday, from August 2026 to March 2027, to capture seasonal variations.
Cost:
The complete course costs $400 plus $40 GST per farming enterprise.
An unlimited number of people per enterprise can register for the course.
This course fee includes 2 feed test samples and a hard copy manual.
Additional details:
BYO morning tea, lunch and chair.
Participants are expected to host a session on farm, with access to a shed/ verandah and a paddock walk. For this cohort, it will generally be in a 1.5 hr radius of Holbrook.
