Ruminant faecal egg count course

Hands-on training to help you detect and manage internal parasites in your livestock, inluding faecal sampling, microscope analysis, and worm control strategies.

Event details:

This practical course is hosted by Greater Sydney Local Land Services to help you build your knowledge and skills in internal parasite management - including how to take faecal samples and analyse them under the microscope.

What else will be covered:

• These skills will enable you to determine if you have a worm issue in your stock and plan how to manage and control parasites.

• The session will also include information about the introduction of eID NLIS ear tags for sheep and goats, outlining the mandatory requirements for small ruminant producers.

IMPORTANT: Places are heavily limited due to the number of microscopes available.

Additional details:

• Please arrive 9:00 am for 9:30 am start.

• A light lunch will be provided following the session.

• Equine worms will not be covered in this workshop, but we will have future sessions dedicated to this topic – stay tuned!

• Please bring your own livestock faeces sample to the workshop for the practical activity.
