Overview of this event
This workshop will help you assess your paddocks, interpret what the plants are telling you, and explore soil-based strategies for long-term improvement.
Event Description:
Join this workshop, hosted by Greater Sydney Local Land Services and facilitated by Kim Deans from Reinventing Agriculture, to gain practical tools and a fresh approach to managing weeds. The session focuses on soil health and offers strategies for dealing with thistles, fireweed, or pasture decline.
You will learn about:
Weeds as ecological indicators.
The relationship between soil health and weed presence.
Preventing weed infestations.
Options for managing weeds.
The benefits of a holistic approach to weed management.
Developing a holistic weed plan.
Weed monitoring tips and procedures.
Drawing on leading regenerative principles and research, this evidence-based workshop is designed for small to medium-sized farms and includes a practical paddock weed walk and talk. Similar workshops will be held at Camden (17 Sept), Kurrajong (18 Sept), and Dooralong (19 Sept).
Additional notes: Morning tea and lunch will be provided. Please wear comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing as we will be conducting paddock walks.
