Overview of this event
Join local Hunter Local Land Services staff Peter Beale and Hannah Botta from the Manning Great Lakes region for a practical workshop exploring how to improve soil health and productivity on your property.
We will be furthering the lime story and impact of different fertilisation demonstrated by an omission trial plot approach. See how soil testing has identified soil limitations and how to correct them. Results and discussion of recent trials will be discussed. Come and see the differences yourself ….
What to expect:
This session will build on topics from recent field days:
Soil acidity - is there a new way forward?
Soil Testing - when, where, and how to test?
Understanding spatial distribution - why one test isn’t always enough
Prilled vs bulk lime - what works best where?
Potassium - the often-forgotten nutrient
Clover - why it matters for productive pastures.
Fodder data from test plots
