Overview of this event
Join Riverina Local Land Service at 'Wunelli' to hear first-hand the opportunities and challenges to diversify farm income through biodiversity markets.
Event description:
Discover how "Wunelli" is farming for profit and the planet
The Kingma's property 'Wunelli' is a 900ha farm just south of Tumut, where the main enterprise is grassfed cattle and fat lambs. The property also contains large tracts of bushland adjoining Kosciusko National Park. Recent surveys have shown that these areas provide habitat for endangered species such as the Gang Gang Cockatoo, Powerful Owl, Barking Owl and Greater Gliders.
The property is in the process of entering a Biodiversity Stewardship Agreement, which will enable the Kingmas to generate and sell biodiversity credits in return for improving the habitat for threatened species and ecosystems.
Come join us at 'Wunelli' to hear first-hand the opportunities and challenges to diversify farm income through biodiversity markets. Guest speakers include Justin Williams from DCCEEW Stewardship Support Program, Mason Crane from the Biodiversity Conservation Trust, and Natural Capital Advisors from Local Land Services.
What to bring:
