Join Murray Local Land Services for a practical workshop focusing on confinement feeding, weaning, and weaner and breeder management. Key principles for sheep will also be covered.

With tough seasonal conditions, there is plenty to know about suitable weaner nutrition and breeder management is critical to maintaining growth rates, protecting condition, and supporting successful re-conception.

Presented by Geoff Minchin and Brett Littler (Drought Adoption Officers and farmers), this session will provide practical, on-the-ground insights to support your decision-making.

Topics will include:

• fundamentals of weaner nutrition and feed requirements

• feed ration formulation –  what to consider

• benefits and practicalities of livestock confinement feeding, including animal health considerations (with Mark Corrigan, LLS District Veterinarian)

• management approaches for the season ahead.

  
  

Additional details: Bring along your feed test results. There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, compare feeding options, and explore strategies for managing through dry times.
