The Local Land Services (LLS) North West region covers a large and diverse area of northern NSW, stretching from the Queensland border down towards the Liverpool Plains.
The region includes a mix of farming land, grazing areas and regional towns. Agriculture is a key part of life and the economy in the North West.
Regional advisory groups
Local Community Advisory Groups ensure we meet our community's needs and are a legislative requirement under the Local Land Services Act 2013.
North West LLS staff work with landholders, communities and partners to support land management, biosecurity, emergency response and farm productivity.
Our local advisory groups provide specialist, strategic advice to our local boards around matters relating to our customers and stakeholders.
The North West Community Advisory Group (CAG) ensures we meet our community's needs and is a legislative requirement under the Local Land Services Act 2013.
The Community Advisory Group represents 7 areas within the North West Local Land Services region. It also has 2 identified positions allocated to represent Aboriginal communities.

The North West Regional Weed Committee (RWC) is a local community advisory group established under Section 33 of the Local Land Services Act 2013.
The RWC is responsible for supporting the implementation of the North West Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan 2023–2027.
The North West RWC also:
- provides strategic, tenure-neutral coordination of weed management across the region
- advises the North West Local Land Services board
- fosters collaboration among key stakeholders
- promotes awareness of invasive weed species
- prioritises regional weed threats
- supports policy development
- ensures alignment with state biosecurity frameworks through annual planning and reporting.
The committee’s current term runs until 30 June 2027, subject to review by the North West Local Land Services board.
The North West Regional Pest Animal Committee (RPAC) is a local advisory group established under Section 33 of the Local Land Services Act 2013. RPAC:
- provides strategic, tenure-neutral planning and coordination for managing priority pest animals across the region.
- plays a key role in supporting the implementation and evaluation of the North West Regional Strategic Pest Animal Management Plan 2024-28
- advises the North West Local Land Services board
- engages stakeholders on regional pest issues.
The RPAC serves as a forum for discussion, consultation, and guidance, with members selected for their expertise and ability to represent diverse land uses and interests.
The committee consists of 8 to 16 members plus a Chair, and its current term runs until 30 June 2028, subject to review by the North West Local Land Services board.
